Most fat bikes are aluminum, most run suspension forks, and most are optimized for a single terrain type. The LES Fat is carbon, runs a rigid carbon fork, and thanks to Pivot's Swinger II dropout system, accommodates wheel sizes from 26" through 29" — making it one of the most genuinely versatile mountain bikes in the fat bike category.

The Swinger II dropout system is the technical core of the LES Fat's appeal. The adjustable rear dropouts allow the chainstay length to be modified to accept different wheel sizes — fat 27.5" with 3.8"+ tires for winter and soft-terrain riding, or standard 27.5" or 29" wheels for trail season — without meaningfully changing the bike's handling character or geometry.
